Off season rods come in a variety of styles, the two main choices being motorized and controlled with a remote or a pull down rod with hydraulic arms.
Before ordering make sure your openings have enough depth in addition to height considering that as the rod lowers the bottom of your clothes need to clear the shelf below it as it rotates down.
Motorized rods usually have a power source directly behind them near the top of the closet opening which will be done by your electrician ahead of time. Each Rod will be controlled by it’s own wireless remote which we will often mount to the inside of your closet opening (on the hidden side).
Hydraulic pull down arms lift or descend with a shepherd hook style extending arm that will hang down, usually resting on the shelf below it for ease of reach to operate.
Different brands will have their own weight capacities as well as specific widths for different size closet openings. It is recommended to not choose a budget option as cheaper models have much thinner rods which will often bow/bend under heavier weights.
